Words of wisdom for how to walk in life!

As we go through life, many voices surround us and influence our decisions; choosing the right one is very important. I did not always listen to the right ones and had to live with the consequences that followed. In my book “Broken Silence: Nothing Can Stop Purpose” I write about how one choice changed my life forever.

I went to prison because I chose to listen to people around me instead of listening to the gentle whispers of God; through scripture, he told me in many ways I was going in the wrong direction. I wanted to do my own thing and live how I wanted to because I needed to be in control since so many bad things had happened to and around me. Death and destruction can jade one’s perspective and root seeds of discord and uncomfortable feelings and situations deeply in the heart.

During my devotions this morning, I found these verses, and they encouraged me to push forward even when I have not done the right thing. I hope they encourage you as well, moving forward is choice that we must make no one else can do it for you.

”My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them and healing to their whole body. Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Avoid all perverse talk; stay away from corrupt speech. Look straight ahead and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil.“ ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭4‬:‭20‬-‭27‬ ‭NLT‬‬

These verses can encourage you to seek the proper steps to take in your daily interactions and choices; let life lessons cast a vision for all future endeavors.
