Revelation of your worth

When we do the things that God has for us we work into the purpose He has for us. I was reading in Acts 10 and these verses stood out to me.

“And he, fastening his eyes upon him, and being affrighted, said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are gone up for a memorial before God. And a voice came unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, make not thou common.”

Acts 10:4, 15 ASV

“And Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: but in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is acceptable to him.”

Acts 10:34-35 ASV

As we walk our daily lives we have the chance to bless other people with our obedience, here we see Cornelius maintaining his household and praying over it when he gets a vision to send for Simon Peter. As we know Simon Peter is walking out his purpose guiding the church after Christ Jesus resurrection, when he also has a vision about things that the Jews would consider unclean and God tells him that what He has cleanses is not unclean or common to Him.

I found this so fascinating, we see both of these men praying and going about their regular routine when they were interrupted by God in a vision. One to seek out another and to the other to seek out what God calls worthy! I love the complexity that we see here how there is a mindset shift that correlates in both instances, and GOd gets all the honor in the situation.

What has God been calling you to see in your life that you feel is outside of what you feel comfortable doing? Is he asking you to speak to someone new, go to a new place , or even tugging on your heart to volunteer in a place you don’t feel qualified for? Know this that He goes with you no matter where you are and will strengthen you as you step out in faith!
